Important Announcement by Real Property Manager - Coronavirus (Covid-19) - Working together to keep us all safe

We’ve been watching the COVID-19 situation as it evolves our country, state and suburbs. Each passing day brings new developments, but our top priority remains the health and well-being of our staff, your tenants and of course you and your loved ones.

This world wide epidemic is very complex and emotions to process these circumstances are at an all time high. We recognise how stressful this particular situation is, and we share your concerns. We stand with all of you and the broader business community during a time when the property management industry is being affected.

We take the health and well-being of our clients, tenants, tradespeople and staff very seriously. As property managers, we deal closely with a wide range of people in many environments and the current situation has prompted us to consider how we can best keep each other safe from infection.

There may be instances that arise in the near future where tenants are ill and may have contracted the virus and are unable to facilitate things such as routine property inspections and open for inspections and at the same time may be protecting themselves from the public and for health reasons may not be willing to allow the public to walk though your property in fear of spreading the virus. We need to respect their decisions and living space.

There may be financial pressures that take affect. Job losses, inability to earn, loss of trade and business. We can all be sensitive to the financial realities of such turbulent times and play a part to support one another with understanding if genuine pressures are at play.

Please bear with us as there may be delays with maintenance and inspections that are out of our hands – our priority is keeping each other safe from infection. If necessary, routine inspections can be rescheduled, alternative arrangements for maintenance access can be made, and open homes can be converted to private viewings by appointment should tenants feel comfortable to do so.

From current WHO and Health Department recommendations we have developed a COVID-19 Health Policy that asks clients, tenants, tradespeople and our team to understand and adhere to the following:

Feeling sick? Stay home!

If you are sick, the Health Department tells us not to go to public places, such as work, school, shopping centres, large gatherings or events or even childcare or university.

  • flu-like symptoms
  • fever
  • runny nose
  • cough
  • shortness of breath
  • sore throat.

We don’t want to put ANYONE at risk!

Our job involves people management just as much as property management.

So that we can best keep each other safe from infection, please let us know as soon as practical, if you or anyone in your home;

  • is sick and have any one or a combination of the above symptoms
  • has been in contact with anybody who is being tested for, OR has been confirmed positive with COVID-19
  • has been tested for, OR has been confirmed positive with COVID-19
  • has been overseas in the 14 days prior to our team OR our tradespeople coming to your home
  • becomes sick with any one or a combination of the above symptoms, OR is tested for, OR has been confirmed positive with COVID-19 following a visit to your home by our team OR our tradespeople

We are putting precautions in place so that the normal course of business may continue as usual. We have a plan in place in case we need to work remotely with minimal disruption. We acknowledge the increased need for flexibility in times of uncertainty, and will act in the best interests of public health and safety over monetary gains and benefits.

Staying informed about the impact of the coronavirus around the world is vital to ensuring your safety and the well-being of your team and attendees. In addition to your local public health officials and local authorities, be sure to follow the: World Health Organization (WHO) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC), which include up-to-date guidance for gathering safely.

We will keep you up to date with future changes as soon as they come to hand. This is a challenging time, but we take comfort in knowing that your co-operation,understanding and your patience is core to the human experience.
